Terms of Service

Effective October 24, 2026 · CompetitiveShooter.org LLC · Questions: name-align6u@icloud.com

Please read these terms carefully. They include a binding arbitration agreement and a class action waiver (Section 15), a disclaimer of warranties (Section 12), and a limitation of our liability (Section 13). They affect your legal rights.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and CompetitiveShooter.org LLC ("CompetitiveShooter.org," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the website at competitiveshooter.org, its subdomains, and any related services, content, features, and applications we offer (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, checking the box at signup, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who may use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service. By using the Service you represent and warrant that you are at least 18, that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement, that you are not barred from using the Service under any applicable law, and that you have not previously been suspended or removed from the Service.

The Service is operated from the United States and is intended for use by people in the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law.

3. Your account

  • You must provide a valid email address and keep it current. You may hold only one account, and you may not create an account for anyone other than yourself.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorized it. Tell us right away at name-align6u@icloud.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
  • Your public handle must not impersonate another person or organization, infringe anyone's rights, or be offensive. We may reclaim or change any handle at our discretion.
  • You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate your account as described in Section 11.

4. Content you post

The Service lets you post text, photos, comments, event submissions, and other material ("User Content"). You keep whatever ownership rights you have in your User Content. By posting it, you grant CompetitiveShooter.org LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for example, to resize or strip metadata from images), adapt, publish, publicly display, distribute, and otherwise use your User Content in connection with operating, promoting, and improving the Service. This license continues for content that remains on the Service after you delete your account where it has been shared by others, and for copies kept in routine backups.

You represent and warrant that you own or have all rights needed to post your User Content and to grant this license; that your User Content does not infringe or violate anyone's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights; and that it complies with these Terms and all applicable law.

We do not pre-screen User Content and are under no obligation to monitor it. We may, but are not required to, remove, edit, hide, or refuse any User Content at any time for any reason without notice. We are not responsible or liable for any User Content, including its accuracy, legality, or decency. Opinions expressed in User Content belong to the people who post them, not to us.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to help anyone else to:

  • Violate any federal, state, or local law or regulation, or post content that would do so;
  • Offer, advertise, solicit, or arrange the sale, trade, or transfer of firearms, ammunition, firearm parts, or any other regulated item through the Service, or use the Service to evade any law governing such transfers;
  • Post content that is threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or that incites or glorifies violence against any person or group;
  • Post content that depicts or encourages the unsafe, reckless, or unlawful handling or use of firearms;
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person, club, range, or organization;
  • Post anyone's private information without their consent, or post photos of people who have asked not to be shown;
  • Post spam, unsolicited advertising, pyramid schemes, or repetitive or misleading content;
  • Upload viruses or malicious code, probe or scan the Service for vulnerabilities, interfere with its operation, or access it by any automated means (including scrapers and bots) other than public search engines following our robots.txt;
  • Circumvent any rate limit, trust level, block, suspension, or other restriction we impose;
  • Collect or harvest information about other users, or use the Service to build a competing product;
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our written permission, other than ordinary promotion of a club, range, or match in the event listings and feed.

6. Firearms, events, and safety

The Service is an information and community site for the competitive shooting sports. It is not a firearms dealer, broker, instructor, range, match director, or safety authority, and nothing on the Service is professional, legal, or safety advice.

  • You are solely responsible for complying with all laws that apply to you, including federal, state, and local laws on the purchase, ownership, possession, transport, carry, and use of firearms, ammunition, magazines, and accessories. Laws vary widely by location and change often. Nothing on the Service should be relied on as a statement of what is legal where you are.
  • Shooting is inherently dangerous. Any activity you undertake at a range, match, or event you learn about through the Service, or based on anything you read on it, is at your own risk. You assume all risk of injury, death, and property damage arising from such activities.
  • We do not operate, sponsor, sanction, inspect, or endorse any range, club, match, event, instructor, product, or organization listed, described, or linked on the Service, even when we have reviewed or published the listing. Their rules, safety practices, insurance, and conduct are their own responsibility and yours to evaluate.
  • Any gear, load, technique, or training information in User Content is the opinion of the person posting it. Do not rely on it. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, the published rules of the governing body, and the directions of the range and match officials.

7. Event listings and submissions

Event, range, and club information on the Service is compiled from member submissions, club and range websites, and other public sources. It may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. We do not verify dates, times, locations, fees, registration details, eligibility, or any other detail, and we are not responsible for cancelled or changed events or for any cost you incur relying on a listing. Always confirm with the organizer before traveling or paying.

When you submit an event, you represent that you are authorized to publish the information, that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that you own or have the right to use any flyer or image you attach. We may publish, edit, decline, or remove any submission for any reason without notice. Publishing a submission is not an endorsement and does not make us a party to the event.

8. Third-party links and services

The Service contains links to websites, registration systems, maps, and other services that we do not own or control, and it uses third-party providers to host images, deliver email, and locate addresses. We are not responsible for the content, policies, availability, or practices of any third party, and a link is not an endorsement. Your dealings with third parties, including payments and registrations, are solely between you and them.

9. Intellectual property

The Service itself, including its name, logo, design, software, text, and compilation of content, but excluding User Content, is owned by CompetitiveShooter.org LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the Service except as these Terms expressly allow.

10. Copyright complaints

We respect intellectual property rights and respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to name-align6u@icloud.com that includes: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the copyrighted work; identification of the material and its location on the Service; your contact information; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. We may remove content, and we terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to all or part of the Service, remove your User Content, and refuse any future use, at any time, with or without notice or cause, including if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if we discontinue the Service. We are not liable to you or anyone else for doing so.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections 4 (as to the license and your representations), 6, 7, 9, and 12 through 18 survive termination.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS, AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COMPETITIVESHOOTER.ORG LLC AND ITS OWNERS, MEMBERS, MANAGERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS (THE "RELEASED PARTIES") DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS; THAT ANY CONTENT, LISTING, OR INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, CURRENT, OR LAWFUL IN YOUR JURISDICTION; OR THAT ANY RANGE, EVENT, PERSON, OR ORGANIZATION ON THE SERVICE IS SAFE, LEGITIMATE, OR WHAT IT CLAIMS TO BE. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, AND ANY ACTIVITY YOU UNDERTAKE AS A RESULT, IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE RELEASED PARTIES BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR USE, OR FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS, THE SERVICE, ANY CONTENT, ANY EVENT, RANGE, CLUB, OR PERSON YOU LEARN ABOUT OR INTERACT WITH THROUGH THE SERVICE, OR ANY FIREARM-RELATED ACTIVITY, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF THE RELEASED PARTIES FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

These limitations are fundamental elements of the bargain between you and us, and the Service would not be provided without them. Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case the Released Parties' liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, demands, suits, damages, losses, liabilities, judgments, settlements, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms or of any law or regulation, including any firearms law; (d) your violation of any right of a third party; (e) any event, range, club, or activity you attend, organize, promote, or participate in that you learned about or arranged through the Service; or (f) any injury, death, or property damage arising from your handling or use of a firearm. We may assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification, in which case you agree to cooperate with us.

15. Dispute resolution: binding arbitration and class action waiver

Please read this section carefully. It requires you to arbitrate disputes with us individually and limits the ways you can seek relief.

15.1 Informal resolution first

Before starting arbitration or any proceeding, you agree to first contact us at name-align6u@icloud.com with a written description of the dispute and the relief you seek, and to try in good faith to resolve it informally for at least 60 days. We will do the same before bringing a claim against you.

15.2 Agreement to arbitrate

Except as provided in Section 15.5, you and CompetitiveShooter.org LLC agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Service, or your relationship with us, including the formation, interpretation, breach, termination, enforceability, or scope of this agreement to arbitrate (together, "Disputes"), will be resolved exclusively by final and binding arbitration rather than in court. The Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of this section.

15.3 Arbitration procedure

The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect, available at adr.org, as modified by these Terms. A single neutral arbitrator will decide the Dispute. The arbitrator may award the same relief a court could award to you individually, and must follow these Terms and applicable law. Arbitration will take place in the county where you live, by video or telephone, or by written submissions, as the AAA rules allow. Payment of filing, administrative, and arbitrator fees will be governed by the AAA rules; if those rules require us to pay fees that the arbitrator finds to be greater than your share, we will pay them. Each side bears its own attorneys' fees unless applicable law or the AAA rules provide otherwise. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

15.4 Class action and jury trial waiver

YOU AND COMPETITIVESHOOTER.ORG LLC EACH AGREE THAT DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION OR AS A PRIVATE ATTORNEY GENERAL. THE ARBITRATOR MAY NOT CONSOLIDATE MORE THAN ONE PERSON'S CLAIMS OR PRESIDE OVER ANY FORM OF REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND WE EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY. If this class action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim or request for relief, then that claim or request (and only that one) will be severed and brought in court under Section 16, and the rest will be arbitrated.

15.5 Exceptions

Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies there, and either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in court to stop unauthorized use or abuse of the Service or infringement of intellectual property rights, without first arbitrating.

15.6 Your right to opt out

You may opt out of this agreement to arbitrate and the class action waiver by emailing name-align6u@icloud.com within 30 days after you first create an account, with the subject line "Arbitration opt-out," your account handle, the email address on your account, and a clear statement that you want to opt out. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms. If you opt out, Disputes will be resolved in court under Section 16.

15.7 Changes to this section

If we change this Section 15 after you accept these Terms, you may reject the change by emailing us within 30 days after it takes effect, in which case the version you last accepted continues to apply to Disputes between you and us.

15.8 Time limit

To the fullest extent permitted by law, any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service must be filed within one year after it arose, or it is permanently barred.

16. Governing law and venue

These Terms and any Dispute are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to Section 15, you and we agree that the state and federal courts located in the State of Florida have exclusive jurisdiction over any Dispute that is not subject to arbitration, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts and waive any objection to them as an inconvenient forum.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when the current version took effect. If a change is material, we will give notice by posting it on the Service, emailing the address on your account, or asking you to accept the new Terms when you next sign in. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.

18. General terms

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy and any guidelines we post, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
  • Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions remain in full force, except as Section 15.4 provides.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
  • Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account. We may assign these Terms without restriction, including to a successor that takes over the Service.
  • No agency. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and us, or between us and any club, range, or organizer.
  • Force majeure. We are not liable for any delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
  • Electronic communications. You consent to receive notices and communications from us electronically, by email or by posting on the Service, and agree they satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing.
  • Notices to us. Legal notices to CompetitiveShooter.org LLC must be sent to name-align6u@icloud.com. We may update this address by posting a change here.

19. Contact
